  8. ADDQUOTE allows callers to add an entry to the "Quote Of The Day".
  9. However, it does more than that! With ADDQUOTE you can customize
  10. the colors that the "Quote Of The Day" is displayed with. Each line
  11. can have its own color, or all lines can have the same color, or
  12. color sequences can be repeated. Callers quotes are randomly dis-
  13. played along with the regular "Quote Of The Day".

  15. ADDQUOTE can be set up to run automatically at log off or as a menu
  16. item.

  38.     To set up ADDQUOTE as a menu item, have WC5 run the ADDQUOTE.WCX file.
  39. *** NOTE *** The LOGONUTL.WCX file MUST be placed in your \WC5 directory!!

  45.                  II. Having ADDQUOTE run Automatically at Log Off
  46.                      ============================================

  48. To have ADDQUOTE run automatically at Log Off, place the LOG OFF.WCX file
  49. *AND* the LOGONUTL.WCX file in your \WC5 directory.
  50. If you do NOT want ADDQUOTE to run at log off, DO NOT put the LOG OFF.WCX
  51. file here!!

  57.                             III. Setting up colors
  58.                                  =================

  60. Color setup
  61. ===========
  62.     To create the colors ADDQUOTE displays the "Quote Of The Day",
  63. follow this simple procedure:
  64.  
  65. 1) In your \wc5\data\ subdirectory, create an ASCII text file called
  66.    "ADDQUOTE.CFG"
  67.  
  68. 2) Enter the color you wish each line to appear in. (See example below)
  69.    Note: You can enter the colors in upper or lower case. It doesn't
  70.    matter.
  71.  
  72. 3) Save the file. That's it!
  73.  
  74.     The colors you may use are: Blue, Green, Cyan, Red, Magenta,
  75. Yellow, and White. To make these "bright", use the word BRIGHT
  76. before the color!

  78.     Note: Yellow used without the word BRIGHT, actually looks kind of
  79. brown, or orangey.

  82. Having All Lines Be The Same Color
  83. ==================================
  84.     To have all lines be displayed in the same color, only have one line
  85. in the ADDQUOTE.CFG file, with the color you want. (See example below)

  88. Have Color Sequences Repeated
  89. =============================
  90.     To have the color sequences repeated, enter the appropriate number
  91. of lines in the ADDQUOTE.CFG file. The sequence will be repeated auto-
  92. matically. (See example below)

  95. This is the Example Below!

  97. 1) Let's say your ADDQUOTE.CFG file contained only one line:
  98.     BRIGHT RED
  99.  
  100.     Then, the "Quote Of The Day" would be displayed with EVERY line
  101.     printed in bright red.

  103. 2) Let's say your ADDQUOTE.CFG file contained 4 lines:
  104.     BRIGHT WHITE
  105.     BLUE
  106.     GREEN
  107.     BRIGHT CYAN
  108.  
  109.     The "Quote Of The Day" would be displayed with the first line in
  110.     bright white, the second in blue, the third line in green, etc.

  112.     What if there are only 2 lines in the "Quote Of The Day"?

  114.     They will be displayed in bright white, and blue.

  117.     What if there are 10 lines in the "Quote Of The Day"?

  119.     The color sequence will automatically be repeated. In other words,
  120.     lines 1 and 5 will be bright white, lines 2 and 6 will be blue, etc.
  121.     It will print the lines like:
  122.     BRIGHT WHITE - line 1
  123.     BLUE         - line 2
  124.     GREEN        - line 3
  125.     BRIGHT CYAN  - line 4
  126.     BRIGHT WHITE - line 5 (begin sequence again)

  128.     GREEN        - line 7

  138.     The Unregistered version of ADDQUOTE has the following limitation:
  139. Only about 8 lines of quotes may be entered. This should be sufficient
  140. for you to evaluate whether or not you want it.
